Summary: NoorLife processes your data on-device. We do not collect, store, or share your personal information with third parties. Your privacy is a trust (amanah) we take seriously.
1. Introduction
NoorLife ("we", "our", "us") is an Islamic lifestyle application developed by Junsung Park, operating under Junsoft. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the NoorLife mobile application (the "App").
2. Information We Do Not Collect
NoorLife is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not collect:
Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
Account or login credentials
Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
Advertising identifiers
Contact lists or social media profiles
3. Information Processed On-Device
The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
Location Data: Used solely to calculate accurate prayer times, Qibla direction, and find nearby halal restaurants. Your location is processed on-device using astronomical calculations and is never sent to external servers.
Prayer Tracking: Your prayer completion records, streaks, and history are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Quran Bookmarks & Progress: Reading positions, bookmarks, and memorization progress are stored locally.
Zakat Records: Financial calculations and zakat history remain on your device.
Notification Preferences: Your prayer notification, adhan sound, and reminder settings are stored in UserDefaults on your device.
App Preferences: Language, calculation method, madhab selection, and other settings are stored locally.
4. Third-Party Services
NoorLife integrates with the following third-party services:
Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app subscriptions. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
OpenFoodFacts API: When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to OpenFoodFacts (a public, open-source food database) to retrieve product information. No personal data is transmitted. See OpenFoodFacts Privacy Policy.
Gold Price API: To provide current Nisab values for Zakat calculation, we query gold and silver prices. No personal data is transmitted.
AWS S3: Adhan sound files are hosted on Amazon S3 and downloaded on user request. No personal data is transmitted during download.
5. Data Storage & Security
All personal data is stored locally on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks (SwiftData, UserDefaults). Data is protected by your device's security features including encryption and biometric locks.
If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.
6. iCloud & Data Sync
NoorLife does not currently use iCloud sync. All data remains on the device where the App is installed.
7. Children's Privacy
NoorLife does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require account creation or personal information to function.
8. Camera & Sensor Access
Camera: Used only for barcode scanning (Halal product verification) and AR Qibla direction. Camera data is processed in real-time and is never recorded or transmitted.
Compass/Motion Sensors: Used for Qibla direction calculation. Sensor data is processed on-device only.
9. Notifications
NoorLife sends local notifications for prayer times, Ramadan reminders, and daily verses. These are scheduled on-device and do not involve any external push notification service or server.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Your Rights
Since NoorLife does not collect personal data on servers, there is no data to request, export, or delete from our end. All your data is on your device and under your control. You can delete all App data by uninstalling the App.
